Arise offers help to everyone regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs or immigration status. We specialize in assisting individuals who have experienced the following forms of violence and abuse:

Domestic violence is one form of abuse that occurs within a close personal or family relationship. Domestic violence is not just physical abuse. It can involve emotional abuse such as name calling and put-downs, threats that cause someone to feel fearful or unsafe, using someone’s children, mental health condition, addiction, sexual orientation or gender identify to control them, or restricting someone’s access to money and other basic necessities as a method of control. Domestic violence is any pattern of behavior that makes someone feel threatened or unsafe.

Sexual assault refers to rape, sexual harassment, child sexual abuse and other unwanted forms of sexual activity.

Elder abuse, or crimes committed against anyone 65 years of age and older.

Other violent crimes, such as assault, burglary, vandalism, bullying, and homicide.
